“Autumn is a second when every leaf is a flower.” Albert Camus
A couple of days ago the morning sky was “ripped” with clouds of all shapes and sizes and I decided to head to Minnewashta Lake to check out the scene. It was there that I became aware that Fall was beginning with touches of yellows and oranges. This coupled with the sky and calm waters gave me a reason to set up shop and begin work.
At this time of the morning the tonalities are subtle and add to the sense of solitude that I felt while standing on a craggy dock watching the gulls and setting up my camera. I was using my Canon 5D Mark II on a tripod and after several exposures decided to do multiple exposures for an HDR process.
I used NIK’s HDR Efex 2 as my processing platform and then made subtle changes to the structure and density with NIK Viveza.
It’s not uncommon, at the change of seasons, for me to want to hold on to the passing season, yet excited for the challenges of the new. It’s much the same with life…looking backward while walking forward.
Thank you all for visiting and enjoy the last glimpses of summer.
