"Scientific research and other studies have demonstrated that arts education can enhance American students' math and language skills and improve test scores which in turn increase chances of higher education and good jobs in the future."
Thad Cochran
I came across the following link on YouTube that deals with the demise of arts education in the United States. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG9CE55wbtY I think you'll find it informative and sobering as does the above blog quote.
My son also sent me a link to a friends blog site that I found equally compelling as it relates to our "slippage" from the natural world. http://aaronschwenzfeier.blogspot.com/2011/03/play-again.html
As you view these sites ask yourself how you or our children might benefit with a little more time away from the t.v. and more time with their crayola's and a picnic basket.
The blog image is from my trip in the Spring of 2010 to the Badlands of South Dakota. It was deliciously quiet.
Thanks to all that stop by to visit my blog and happy shooting.
