"Change your thoughts and you change your world." Norman Vincent Peale
Sending images to magazines for publication requires both an excellent filing system as well as a certain amount of searching and it's during those searches that one can find some hidden jewels that they may have forgotten. Such is the case for the blog image this week.
Being of a senior age I'm all too familiar with forgetfulness and it often comes at the most embarrassing times. I'm happy to confess, however, that when it comes to photography, and my work in particular, I can usually remember in my "brain file" the time, place, smell and feel of a place when I see the image before me. I can recall this particular morning as being wet, but the air was laden with the smell of fresh mown hay in the adjoining pasture. Having spent many days on a hay rack behind a tractor I can feel the tight twine around the bale, smell a whiff of diesel from the exhaust, and smell the green in the new baled hay. It's really not hard.
Also, among the clutter in my memory file, is my words to God as a wish that the sheep won't run away. The line of sheep on the background hill was perfect and I didn't want to cause any disrupting influence with my presence. This was a morning blessing.
Watch for blessings in your life, even if they're as small as a whiff of hay.
Thank you for being present and I wish you a lovely weekend....you can make it so!
